How to set up EEG Headset?
Set up is very easy.

1. Check the battery on your headset and turn the headset on.

2. Turn on Bluetooth on your laptop or computer and pair devices.

3. Place the EEG device on the head – make sure one sensor is intact with your forehead and the clip is attached to your ear.

How does EEG Headset work?
Your brain accommodates billions and billions of neurons, which form billions of connections by sharing electrical impulses with each other. This exchange of “messages” between neurons produces electrical current, which can be detected and measured with the help of EEG.

When a person feels, sees or hears something, particular parts of the brain are activated, producing electromagnetic waves. EEG device captures them and transforms into a graphical image, which you see on the screen and which allows to understand external influence causing this or that reaction of the person.

The EEG Headset works just the same way. You put it on the head of the person interacting with your product, marketing materials, printed advertising, website, etc. The device records, which parts of the brain are activated during this interaction. After that with the help of our software, specially designed for market research, you are presented with a report, which tells you levels of attention and focus participants experienced at any particular moment of time.

Which EEG hardware to choose?
There are numerous EEG devices on the market.

Which one to choose depends on your objectives, imagination and of course budget. There are more and less intrusive EEG systems customized with bigger or lesser amount of sensors allowing to measure various types of electrophysiological activity of the brain. Most often EEG devices are quite cumbersome and are used for medical purposes such as conducting study on a brain activity or for treatment of psychological and neurological diseases.
So, if the purpose of your research is medical it is probably best to get the intrusive EEG hardware with multiple sensors. However, for market research a light headset with one or two sensors is perfect.

Introduction to EEG
What is EEG?
EEG stands for electroencephalography – a method of monitoring and recording the electrical activity of the brain.

The medium of this electrical activity is our neurons, which communicate with help of electrical signals. Electrical voltage or signal is later converted into waves. This becomes possible thanks to complex mathematical transformations.

Brain waves have different amplitudes depending on one’s states of mind, as well as external stimuli. EEG differentiates following waves – alpha, beta, gamma, delta, and theta. The table from pdf shows the frequency associated with each brain wave, as well as the state of mind that corresponds to this frequency.
